A Visionary Merchant (1961-1970s)

Srinivas Rao Raghoji inherited the ancestral wholesale grains and seeds business and diversified into oilseeds and petrochemicals before entering the logistics realm in 1961.
He forged a partnership with the Associated Cement Company (ACC) at Shahabad. This marked the inception of his journey in logistics. He then ventured into warehousing and started storage facilities in Parli, Maharashtra. With available self-capital and an intense desire for growth, he set the stage for the family business's expansion.
To provide simplified solutions at the time, he designed and implemented a state-of-the-art 3PL logistics system that improved the scope of Raghoji Group beyond cost and freight services.
He had a deep enthusiasm for public welfare activities. Some of his philanthropic endeavours include establishing the ‘Shri Sangameshwar Welfare Trust’ that funds a hospital, a primary school, and a conference hall in Gulbarga.
